A literary meme

I stole this from here.

Meme instructions: Look at the list of books below. Bold the ones you've read, italicize the ones you might read, cross out the ones you won't [I don't actually know how to do this, someone please tell me; I'll just put 'no' beside them...], place an asterick* after the ones on your book shelf, and place (parentheses) around the ones you've never even heard of.

The Da Vinci Code - Dan Brown *[I gave it to my father - so he could see how truly bad it was. Plus, I wanted to know why I felt like I'd read it before - only when someone better had written it.]
The Catcher in the Rye - J.D. Salinger
The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy - Douglas Adams* [I stole my sister's copy. She didn't notice for years.]
The Great Gatsby - F.Scott Fitzgerald
To Kill a Mockingbird - Harper Lee
The Time Traveler's Wife - Audrey Niffenegger
His Dark Materials - Philip Pullman*
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince - J. K. Rowling*
Life of Pi - Yann Martel
Animal Farm: A Fairy Story - George Orwell
Catch-22 - Joseph Heller*
The Hobbit - J. R. R. Tolkien*
(The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time - Mark Haddon [No fucking idea.])
Lord of the Flies - William Golding
Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austen*[Super-bold. I've read it a lot.]
1984 - George Orwell*
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban - J. K. Rowling*
One Hundred Years of Solitude - Gabriel Garcia Marquez
Memoirs of a Geisha - Arthur Golden [Yeah, but no.]
(The Kite Runner - Khaled Hosseini)
The Lovely Bones - Alice Sebold [Hell no.]
Slaughterhouse 5 - Kurt Vonnegut
(The Secret History - Donna Tartt)
Wuthering Heights - Emily Bronte*
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe - C. S. Lewis*
Middlesex - Jeffrey Eugenides [I remain amazed how this sticks with me. I guess incest will do that to you.]
(Cloud Atlas - David Mitchell)
Jane Eyre - Charlotte Bronte*
(Atonement - Ian McEwan)
(The Shadow Of The Wind - Carlos Ruiz Zafon)
The Old Man and the Sea - Ernest Hemingway
The Handmaid's Tale - Margaret Atwood [Anyone got a spare copy? Didn't mind this at all.]
The Bell Jar - Sylvia Plath* [I strongly recommend reading this with a glass of prozac. It makes me want to kill myself.]
Dune - Frank Herbert [No, I'd much rather not. Well, maybe if it's that or another attempt at the bible.]

What a great meme this is - it almost makes it look like I haven't pissed my life away.

Yes, folks, I really am so inept that these things excite me.

Memoirs of a Geisha should have been a TV miniseries not a book. It's crap. Read Slaughterhouse 5, plus Breakfast of Champions and Mother Night because they are all awesome.

The < s > only made the internet get mad at me. I don't like it when the internet gets mad at me. It makes me feel unloved.

Ummm, yes Mark. Toss 'em over then, I'm trying not to buy books :p

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime and The Lovely Bones, both were awesome reads that I couldnt put down.

I liked Slaughterhouse 5 as well, but not as much as the other two.
