I suspect cooking the correct amount of rice is one of those things that is just impossible, like licking your elbow...

I almost tried to lick my elbow then. I really really want to now but I know, just know, that I cannot..

Damn tongue. Too short. Damn.

Snap. As soon as I start pouring the rice into the pot, I channel the spirit of a woman with twelve children.

Could be that there's a reason we're not able to lick our own elbow. Could be a very important reason, like maybe if we could get a taste of our own elbow, we'd find it more addictive than heroin, and we'd turn into crack whores for some of that elbow juice, lusting and slavering away after that sweet, sweet elbow hit all day, every day. Could be that if we could lick our own elbows, we'd become so addicted to it that our tongues would spend a semi-permanent existence in contact with our elbows, and we'd degrade into beasts: and that God, knowing this, has intelligently designed our bodies so that we could not lick our own elbows. Could be.

Then again, could be just a freak of nature. Who knows? It's one of the mysteries of space and time.

This has been another 'Philosophical Moment' from Tim.

Er, Timmy, elbow juice? That sounds like a medical issue.

Alexis, oh yes, that's it. I now have enough rice to feed a small army and no desire to eat said rice. Perhaps I should start my own rice kitchen..?

P.S. Tim, crack hours was funny. Hey, you deleted so I had to look...

Simple rule, half a cup of dry rice makes a full cup of cooked rice. Nails you're a disgrace, even blokes can get that right.

Now use the leftover rice to make rice custard and get double cream to pour over the top, no that should be scoop since it's so heavy. In fact, make it King Island cream, yum and don't forget the cinnamon.

Leftover rice also makes the best fried rice ever.

Damn, I'm hungry.

jahteh, the trouble is that I don't bother to measure. Well, I sort of measure - is that enough? just a leetle bit more...hmmm...

Not a fan of the rice desserts. Not at all. The fried rice isn't a bad idea though.
