Commune

I am dreaming of the place again, the end place, the escape place. A well appointed cottage placed nowhere and well placed for it. Making my way away and with others of like mind. I’ve had enough today, enough rubbish, enough of the ridiculous modernity. And I want to be well away. Alone but not entirely, apart but with community. A small one, an idealised one, a place in and out of the sun on a cold winter’s day.

I was thinking Tasmania; I fancy that the land is cheap, though I wonder how one reared in the tropics could cope in a southern winter. I have already been offered two elderly Greek ladies to keep home and kiddies and be all manner of useful. Maybe they’d even agree. Apparently they make good jam. It sounds useful to me.

Cheap land can never equal freezing one's t*ts off. The only things enjoying weather further south than Melbourne today would be penguins. Go north, young woman, go north.

You make an excellent point. I wonder if I could start a commune on the Hawkesbury or something. I think I'll avoid the Nimbin/Byron thing - pretty but ruined.

I think you'd be a good dictatorial commune leader. You could make money by sheltering Nazis.

Point out the obvious, Mark. No Nazis though, they don't match my furniture.

LOL :D

I've had my days where I thought about packing up and starting a cult somewhere. Honestly though, I'd probably lose interest in it after a while and then be stuck with a bunch of fanatical minions. I wonder if you can sell minions of ebay...

Winter, check with the ACCC. There are strong regulations regarding the trading of second-hand minions and/or Nazis that clash with the upholstery.

Winter, I've a cousin who'd be more than willing to inherit your fanatical minions, my fanatical minions, anyone's fanatical minions. He's another one who dreams of starting his own cult. Sometimes I think we could make a beautiful little alternate reality if we combined our plans.

Oh no, Tim, it's one of the laws that waltzed merrily through the senate when no-one was looking. Minion trading is now in.
