Staruady

I was in the city today remembering what exactly it is I dislike about going places on the weekend [the short answer is tourists who wander like lost sheep] and seeing some movies. There’s been a Pedro Almodovar movie fest going on at Dendy and, with fond memories of SBS and late nights, I’ve gone along to have a bit of a gorge. Between flicks, having decided that I could not do three films in one afternoon/evening, I wandered past a Toaster in pursuit of a patch of grass upon which to rest my weary bones. Those familiar with the geography of Sydney harbour will not be surprised when I mention that I walked through the forecourt of a very famous building, a building I heard described as ‘that place where they’re setting up for Idol, the Opera House

Sounds like a Readers Digest snippet. "The Meandering Life of Nails".

Readers Digest? Oh crap, should I delete the post, commit suicide, or both?

If you want to avoid all the hordes of tourists, then, for the love of God, don't go to the Rocks!

Then again, when I was in Sydney, I went to Carlingford, so I can't talk.

At least a Pedro Almodovar movie fest would have had its share of crazy Spanish sex. Speaking of which - Hey, there's an idea! - when you were done, you could find a crazy Spanish tourist, take him or her back to your place, and ...

Neither! It's a brief synopsis without losing merit.

OH shit, Tim, I'm not even sure where that is. SOunds like it's full of bogans though. Still, Marrickville Metro is full of inbreds and I can't figure out how they can afford to live 'round here...

Carlingford is somewhere between Parramatta and Ashfield without being anywhere near the two suburbs. I had to go through a ridiculously complicated process of catching several trains when I went to see my brother. I think it's so far out there (it's at the end of a train line) that all the bogans get off a few stations before.

I still haven't seen Volver. It's on the list thought. It's on the list...

And I can't comment on today's post so you get it here. One grey hair??? Girl. I've got a head full of 'em. I've even stopped colouring them. Fuck it.

Marina, I didn't see Volver either - it was a pre-screening on a Friday night while I was at work. I'm looking forward to it but I'll wait for it to come out properly. I did see 'All about my mother' [which I also bought on dvd today, yay], 'Kika' [on the big screen, fucking magic!], 'What have I done to deserve this', and 'Women on the verge of a nervous breakdown'. I'm still ticked that I didn't get to see 'High Heels' on the big screen but, again, was at work for that one. One of the best weekends I've had in ages - nothing but awesome films.

As for the grey, well, it's the only one I've found so far and it is pretty hard to see them in my hair [dark-blondey-light-browny-ashy colour - mostly bleached!]. Half of me is hoping they'll all go so I can do the platinum thing - hehehe.
